Cultural understanding and competence create the desire to learn another language.

I worked for nearly 25 years as a World Language sales representative. During that time I was amazed at the numerous requests for something like a mini-atlas with maps that included every Spanish-speaking country in Latin America to assist with the development of cultural competence. Unfortunately, all the companies indicated that such an item was not to be part of their publishing plan.
Thus my wife, a Spanish teacher, and I, a Latin American geographer, created the souvenir ‘Traveler’s Passport.' We created it knowing that teachers of Spanish recognize the importance of developing cultural competence in their classes, but have little time to devote to it. Our Passport provides a fact-filled cultural addition that coordinates with free, easy to use activities based upon the Five C’s and open book questions.
